"There was an amazing feeling of children's minds working in unision, self-reflecting together at the one time, along with calming music in the background; an ambience was created within the classroom. Journaling set the intention for the day, not only for the students but also for the teacher."

Thinking Strong & Feeling Smart

| Ten-week Program |

Recommended for primary schools

This primary wellbeing program is supported by research from Liverpool John Moores University, UK, and is a 10-week wellbeing program that explores growth mindset, emotional regulation strategies, and grounding techniques.

Overview:

What does it mean to think strong and feel smart? Developing self-awareness around our mindset and emotions is an integral part of wellbeing. Learning to listen to our feelings, expand our emotional vocabulary, and self-regulation skills are lifelong skills that take longer for some of us to refine than others. Every child should have access to wellbeing education, not just children labelled with challenges, so that all children are offered a foundation of skills around emotional regulation strategies and positive psychology for their future life skills and for understanding how to support others.

"Working with Heather to implement this journal into an educational setting has been very rewarding. Feedback from the children who used this journal shows how it enables them to authentically explore their thoughts and feelings and improve their mental health and wellbeing. I highly recommend this program. "

"The meditation sessions really helped me, as I am a really stressful person, and they helped me clear my mind and not think about all the bad things and think more on the positives. I became a bit anti-social because of lockdown and the meditations made me feel a bit more like my old self."
